The area is a walker’s paradise and nature has equipped it with an abundance of beautiful scenery, a magnificent coast line of secluded coves and sandy beaches, and a hinterland of mountains, moors, lakes and rivers. On your arrival we will be pleased to assist you in planning your walks, provide packed lunches and should you be caught in a rain shower we can provide drying facilities for wet gear. “Rambles in the Dunfanaghy Area” is available at reception. It contains many interesting walks and strolls which will suit every level of walker and will take you through the beautiful scenery and terrain of the area.
Nearby Ards forest Park has numerous signposted walks that ramble through mature trees, flora, fauna, and beautiful beaches of silvery sand and hidden coves. You will absorb the panoramic views of Sheephaven Bay, mountains, rivers and lakes from the various view points as you walk along the routes.

Glenveagh National Park and Castle is just a thirty five minute drive from the hotel and is set amidst 16000 hectares of mountains, bogs, lakes and forest with many beautiful walks. Guided nature walks take place in June July and August. Guided tours of the castle take place during the Summer months. We have put together some special walking packages for the keen walking enthusiast.

On your arrival we will pleased to assist you in planning your walks and provide you with your free copy of the local walking guide, which contains walks that will suit walkers of every level. The walks will vary from local beach strolls and beach rambles to hikes around Horn Head , Ards Forest Park, Glenveagh National Park, Muckish Mountain, Errigal Mountain and the Posioned Glen and much more. In the evening you can relax over dinner in the Seascapes restaurant and enjoy quality cuisine and fine wines followed by some drinks by the cosy fire in the Whisky fly Bar.
