The Irish School of Landscape Painting 21st - 23rd May 24th - 26th September Book now: reservations@arnoldlshotel.com Capture the magical beauty of the Donegal landscape on canvas .The Summer Painting School will be hosted by the experienced professional artist, Sara Sue McNeill who will encourage and assist in the development of self expression on canvas as well as brushing up on your painting skills and artistic technique. The painting course is designed to encourage beginners and more advanced students to achieve better results. You will be part of a small friendly group where all levels of ability are welcome. Individual tuition and advice will be given by Sue to her students. Arnolds hotel is the ideal location overlooking the majestic Horn Head just across the bay and nearby Muckish mountain which forms the natural backdrop to the village of Dunfanaghy with breathtaking landscapes. Warm welcoming hospitality, open turf fires and gourmet cuisine served in the Seascapes Restaurant set the scene for a relaxing and enjoyable painting holiday. The majestic Horn Head clad with purple heathers, the mellow yellows of the local gorse and wild bracken is home to the many seabird colonies that nest in the cliffs. Many of the walks have spectacular views of Tory Island , Innisboffin, Errigal Mountain and the three peaks and provide a Not forgetting the magnificent Muckish Mountain fused with colour and texture an exciting feature on any artist’s canvas. The three local brown trout lakes Sessiagh, Purt and New lake are controlled by Dunfanaghy Angling Association and are regularly stocked and baliffed. Fishing permits and boat hire is available at the hotel reception. The lakes provide the natural habitat of a large variety of wild fowl and nesting swans with their signets can be spotted on the lake. You will also see the mother sitting on her nest before the arrival of her clutch of beautiful signets that eventuallywill follow her during the summer months around the lake. A wide variety of ducks, as well as cootes, moor hens, the grey heron and many other species of wild fowl also frequent the lake during the year.

Painting Schedule Friday - Registration 5.00 - 6.30pm Sherry Reception 7.00pm Glenveagh Room Dinner 7.30pm - Seascapes Restaurant Dinner will be followed by course outline in the Glenveagh Room. Saturday - Class begins at 10.00am This will be follwoed by a painting demonstration from 10.30 - 12.00 Students will continue painting until 1.00pm Lunch 1.00 - 2.00pm Painting 2.00 - 5.00pm Dinner 7.30pm - Tramore Restaurant Sunday - Class begins at 10.00am Painting Demonstration 10.30 - 12.00 Noon Students continue painting until 1.00pm Lunch 1.00 - 2.00pm Painting 2.00 - 4.30pm Tariff €248.00 per person sharing The price includes 2 Gourmet Dinners on Friday and Saturday evening in the Seascapes Restaurant, Painting Tuition and 2 Full Irish Breakfasts.
